About Sylvan Valley Arabians

Sylvan Valley Arabians is a small but high-quality Arabian show and breeding farm located in Yorkton, SK, operated by owner Kristal Hayden. The original Sylvan Valley Arabians was founded in the 1970's by Kristal's late Aunt & Uncle, Omer & Estelle L'Heureux of St. Victor, SK. Omer was a true horseman with very strong ideals of what an Arabian should be. He had shelves of books and spent much time researching bloodlines, strains and Arabian characteristics. It was at Omer & Estelle's that Kristal developed her passion for Arabians. Visits would be highlighted by much time spent "talking horses" with Omer, with Kristal absorbing every minute of it. Kristal had her first horse when she was 5 years old, and grew-up trailriding, in 4H, and attending small shows. It was in 1997 that Omer sold Kristal her first Arabian, and she has never looked back!

Kristal and MatilynToday, Kristal has taken on the Sylvan Valley Arabians breeding program in honor of her Aunt & Uncle. With the addition of more modern breeding to the soundness and athleticism of the old, Kristal is carrying on the legacy with pride and excitement for the future. Breeding horses are selected with the philosophy that Arabians are both athletic and beautiful and that they can and should be capable of both halter and performance. "I want beautiful, beautiful horses... that can move," says Kristal. Without sacrificing one for the other, watch for SVA horses gracing the National halter & performance arenas as Kristal takes the SVA breeding and show program into the future.
